D&D Dice

The charts that started it all! The moment I learned mosaic crochet I wanted to make a pattern for D&D dice. It took me about six months, first learning how to create mosaic crochet charts at all and then working my way one by one through the full set of all 7 dice, but I finally finished them all and am incredibly proud to share them!

Below are charts for all 7 standard array dice, plus an extra version of the d4 and d10 for a total of 9 charts!

These charts are advanced difficulty. They are the most complicated charts I’ve made to date. Each chart uses a wide variety of special stitches, including Extended stitches which I developed specifically for this project. If you are new to mosaic crochet I highly recommend checking out some of my other charts first before diving into these.

An ad-free, printable PDF of this pattern is available on both Etsy and Ravelry! The PDF features:

  • Your choice of all 9 charts or only the d20
  • Instructions for making a drawstring bag
  • Instructions for all special stitches

I used a variety of different yarn for each of the projects shown here, as each had a different purpose. It’s always good to consider what type of fiber will work best for a certain project!

For the table runner pictured above, I used Malabrigo Verano in Black and Arachania. Since it was going on the dining room table I knew I wanted a cotton, as not only is cotton more heat resistant than other fibers, it’s also easy to wash!

The tote bag pictured above was made in wool, primarily because I had a lovely skein of superwash wool I wanted to use from A Skeiner Darkly! I paired their Event Horizon with a black by Cascade Yarns.

Lastly the drawstring bags above were made with Caron Simply Soft, which is my favorite acrylic yarn for mosaic crochet. The colors used here were Black, Rainbow Bright, Spring Brook, and White!
